Are your cheesecakes made fresh?
Yes, all of our cheesecakes are hand made fresh daily using all real ingredients without fillers or funky preservatives.
How should I cut my cheesecake?
We suggest using a warm knife (run under hot water, cleaned between each slice, and run under hot water again) or you can use dental floss for a perfect slice by taking a piece long enough to extend past the diameter of the cake, pushed down through the bottom of the crust, and gently pulled out from one side (clever trick our mom taught us that works perfectly).
How long should I let a cake thaw before I eat it?
We suggest removing the wrapping on the cake when it arrives and then placing (the cake) back in the box in a refrigerator for 24 hours (we know you are going to want to taste before that and you can, it just might be cold). Our cakes taste best chilled.
Why is the crumb uneven?
Our crumb is applied by hand and not by a machine which gives it a unique look each time, but the same great taste with each bite.
Are your cheesecakes Kosher?
Our cakes are certified Kosher Dairy
Do you have gluten-free options?
Yes, we can make gluten-free cheesecakes by special request, but our facility is not gluten free. All of our bowls, mixers and tools are thoroughly washed before creating any gluten free products. We use separate bowls/tools (gf never gets put in a mixer), but we can’t guarantee there will be no cross-contamination.
Do you offer sugar-free options?
We offer a low sugar cheesecake (made with Splenda), and no-sugar added options but there is sugar in our graham and cookie crusts.
Do you offer vegan options?
We can make vegan cakes (by special order) using soy and tofu base. While we take extra precaution when making dairy free or vegan options, our facility is not a dairy-free or vegan facility. Please call the store 48 hours prior to order (212)966-5585.
Does Eileen’s Franchise?
No, we don’t currently offer franchises and while we are flattered by the requests to bring our bakeries around the world, our expansion plans are coming soon! You can still order our cakes and have them shipped around the US here.
How do you ship cakes?
All of our cakes are made fresh and then frozen to lock in the flavor. We ship FedEx Priority overnight $40 for Tues-Fri or $50 for Saturday delivery. All cakes are shipped packed tight in our custom boxes with ice. You will receive an email from FedEx with your tracking number and estimate of delivery date and time
Do you ship internationally?
We do not… but we are working on it!
Can I cancel my shipping order?
Orders can be cancelled up until 24 hours before they are shipped.
How will I know when my order has shipped or when it will arrive?
You will receive a confirmation email once your order has been placed. When the cake has been shipped, you will receive an email notification with the tracking number that you can track in transit.
Does your cake require a signature upon arrival?
It is best if orders are shipped to an address where someone will be available to sign for the delivery. If you’re sending a cake as a gift, it is recommended you notify the recipient that they should be expecting a special package on or around the date and time stated on your tracking information. It is at the sole discretion of FedEx whether or not your package will be left at your door without a signature. Eileen’s Special Cheesecake cannot be held responsible if the package is lost, stolen, or damaged.
